After the last Live trading session we had early this morning, we moved to the next speech. So we had the special appareance of our FX Trader of the Year 2008 contest winner: Sew Yew Tech about his trading strategies named ‘The Swiss Cheese Model Approach’.

We wanted to conclude the second edition of this International Traders Conference with a round table of our experts moderated by our Expert advisor and Forum manager, Alberto Muñoz.
All of them discussed about the guidelines a trader must follow to be sucesful and the retail traders and their impact on the market. The finantial crisis was another key topic they spoke about as well as the banks interventions. The discussion is still going on…

Hi all,

we are still here, still alive, stil trading, still having fun all together!

This is already the third and last day if the ITC, our conference in Barcelona as you know.

As yesterday, we’ve started the day with Live Trading Sessions… market is quieter than yesterday but those sessions are still very interactive learning experience: small groups of traders altogether around a table, the speaker projecting his charts on a big screen, questions and answers, analyses and comments.

Another interesting session of key note speeches for the ITC’s second day.

Sunil Mangwani was on charge of the opening session this afternoon with his Key Note speech: ‘Trading the Hidden divergence’.

Derek Frey was the next one to take the stage with the interesting speech about ‘Range trading: learn how to trade the chop and the slop’. He finished his speech with a really funny video… watch it now!

And Rob Booker was the one who closed this intensive second day with the topic: ‘Developing the Trader’s Mind: Strategies for Long Term Success’. As always, Rob used funny pictures, did jokes and lively talked about psychology and trading strategies. He will post his Powerpoint very soon on his FXstreet.com blog!

The hotel, the wonderful environment, meeting the old friends… and also the new ones. TV interviews, me finally visiting the ITC (my vertigo let me take a rest for about one hour) and much more.

Yesterday night the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) decided to lower its policy rate by 50bp to 1.00% as we expected. The decision fell short of market expectations with fed funds futures discounting a fifty-fifty probability of a 50bp and 75bp cut. However, the statement was biased towards further easing which should moderate any short term disappointment.

And after the lunch break, this afternoon we hosted the Live Trading sessions with Rob Booker, Dirk Du Toit, Derek Frey, Sunil Mangwani, Phil Newton, Jamie Saettele and Sam Seiden…

This closes the first day of the ITC… nervous, tired but generally satisfied after an intensive day of speeches and Live Trading… all traders and experts are now waiting for the FOMC Interest Rate decision and its potential impact on the currency market.

See you all tomorrow… for even more!
