Hi everyone,

This year, we have limited the floor of the International Traders Conference (ITC 2009) to a maximum of 60 traders.

The reason behind that decision is that we want to make sure that the event will be an excellent experience for our attendees so traders will get the most from key speeches and live trading sessions. Also, we think that a small floor will help to make a more direct relationship between speakers and attendees and it will be easier to get to know to each other.

Seats are going to be limited this year so don’t wait too much to book your seat.

Hi everyone

For the 3rd year in a row!!! we invited Rob Booker to be with us at our International Traders Conference and for the third time he has accepted.

I’m truly happy to have Rob once more with us. We have reached a point that I can not conceive the ITC without Rob. He is an excellent speaker, he is funny, smart and very sharp… well, you know that I only have good words about him as he has proven me to be great person and a very professional trader since the first time we met I would say maybe 6 or 7 years ago???

ITC will be held in Barcelona from October 14th to 16th

Francesc

Hi everyone

On a notice to members from last April 13th, the NFA announced the prohibition hedging.

An important executive of the Retail Forex industry just informed me that the NFA will not be allowing stop and limit orders on open positions either, as this conflicts with their FIFO - first-in, first-out - new policy. This goes into effect may 17th.

As soon as I get more information, I’ll let you know

Francesc

Update1 NFA Not allowing stop and limit orders - FIFO delayed to July 31st

Hi everyone

I’ve been reeding in my spare time the last few weeks a no doubt a great book.

The book’s name is Essentials of Foreign Exchange Trading and it was written by James Chen, Chief Technical Strategist at FX Solutions.

I’m enjoying it very much so I decided to share with you the review Alberto Muñoz, FXstreet’s Forum manager and professional Forex trader did a few weeks ago.

Francesc

ESSENTIALS OF FOREIGN EXCHANGE TRADING REVIEW
By Alberto Muñoz, FXstreet.com Forum Manager and professional Forex Trader

Have you heard of Forex trading and want to know more? Congratulations! Chen’s book is the perfect source of knowledge for those that haven’t ever trade currencies. Clearly explained, Chen’s writing style clearly shows that he knows what is professional currency trading, focusing in the important aspects that every trader should know.

The book covers all important Forex trading related topics. After reviewing the very basic aspects and the origins of foreign exchange trading, Chen dedicates two chapters to the main analytic tools used by Forex traders, technical and fundamental analysis. Following that there’s a chapter presenting a complete guide of trading methods and strategies, which allows to understand concepts such as swing trading, backtesting or point and figure charts. The last chapter is devoted to money management as well as psychological trading elements; those topics are usually omitted in this kind of books though they’re key to trading successfully.

Its reading is very pleasant and includes complete summaries at the end of every chapter, which are really useful; also some chapters contain valuable interviews and quotes from professional traders such as Joseph Trevisani or Ed Ponsi. I have only missed a more detailed explanation of technical indicators description (no maths in this book); and it would have been a good idea to include a Internet resources page, specially in the Fundamental Analysis chapter.

Personally I have read a lot of Forex trading books and I’m pretty sure that Essentials of Foreign Exchange Trading is one of the most comprehensive and readable book about Forex trading, which makes it the perfect book for the beginner Forex trader; also professional traders will benefit from its reading, refreshing basic concepts.

But if you’re looking for the Holy Grail strategy this is not the right book, as the author’s intention is only to show what is Forex trading, providing all of the most essential tools to start developing your own trading strategy.

On June 30, 2008, NFA issued a Complaint charging I Trade FX with failure to implement an adequate anti-money laundering program. The Complaint also charged I Trade FX and Martinez with failure to supervise.

On August 14, 2008, I Trade and Martinez filed an Answer to the Complaint in which they denied the material allegations contained therein.

On April 24, 2009, a designated Panel of the Hearing Committee issued a Decision to I Trade and Martinez after a hearing was held. The hearing panel ordered I Trade to pay a $250,000.00 fine and to retain an independent auditing firm to conduct four semi-annual audits to review compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, the implementing regulations, NFA’s AML rules, and I Trade’s own AML procedures.

Hi everyone

As you already may know, by March 2009, all Swiss Forex Brokers were required to submit their application to the Swiss Federal Banking Commission in view of obtaining a Banking License. Without obtaining this banking license, Swiss forex brokers will no longer be authorized to function as such in Switzerland.

As far as I know, at this time only ACM, MIG Investments, Dukascopy and GFX Group (Forex.ch) did.

Of those not applying for banking licence, only Realtime Forex S.A announced its refusal to apply and it is moving the business to Malta.

Please, stay away of any Swiss firm that it is remaining silent about their banking license situation. And keep an eye to those that applied for banking license. Find out what will happen with your funds if their application is denied.
