15 days to start Forex Trader of the Year 2009 LIVE Contest and only 15 registered traders? Come on guys! It is an opportunity to learn

Posted on April 16, 2009 at 10:20 in About FXstreet.com, Forex by Francesc

Hi everyone

I’ve just been informed that FX Trader of the Year 2009 LIVE (real accounts) contest will be starting in 15 days and we have ONLY 15 registered traders to participate.

What’s wrong here? We had over 800 in the Demo Contest and now that it is with real money only 15?

I want you to remember that the winner of the contest will get a proprietary trader position at Nordmarkets. Also he/she will be invited to attend our October’s International Traders Conference edition in Barcelona and give a speech.

But above all, the previous experience tell us that the contest with real accounts is a great learning opportunity for those participating. You can learn a lot from it if you approach it right.

There will be also prizes for the following subcategories:

> Risk Expert - Nord’s Favourite (NordMarkets is the Sponsor)
> Best Winning Streak
> Best Winning Trade

We’ll give more details in the next days. By the moment, you have to register at Nordmarkets website. Just fill out the following form:

http://www.nordmarkets.com/toty/toty09_form.html

Please choose Live account (unless you prefer to participate in the Demo Contest) competition and click on MT4. The platform choice is irrelevant on the live contest since you will be trading your own live account.

After that, you will have to register in the forum and reply to this thread by posting that you accept the contest rules and providing the name of your broker and account type (Standard or Mini).

Anyway take into account that the competition will start on May 4th, 0.00 h. CET and will last 3 months until July 31st, 22.00 h. CET. Registration deadline is May 1st, 23.00 h. CET

Come on… come, participate and learn!

    Hi Francesc,

I am entering for the trader of the year. I was just wondering what type of returns percent wise would you need to be in with a shout of winning??
    Thanks
    Tony

    Hi Chandra

Yes, you can participate in the contest using a trading account with any given broker, even CFSA.

The conditions to meet are in our forum:

There’s no minimum percentage to win the contest, just trade and make profits. Anyway, you may want some figures to compare.
Two years ago we had around 70 traders participating. Just 3 ended in positive and the winner cheated and was disqualifyed.
Meanwhile, last year demo contest shed an amazing 1,594.69% return while the first place contestant of the current demo contest is over 300% up (take into account that leverage is limited to 5:1 this time).
