Very sweet session indeed on quite a few pairs today. In this video I focus on just one reload entry of one of these moves, the short on the GBP/USD. We had opened London and extended right down to our daily M1 pivot point/4 hour 200 ema combination. In this video I essentially show you the plan for a re-entry into this short yet again off of a combination of Fibonacci levels, hourly 5ema, daily S1 pivot point, and 4 hour 5 ema, and targeting our S2 pivot point today around 1.6250 or so.. This entry although planned well in advance by using 15m. 1hr. 4hr charts, ultimately was taken from a zoomed in 1 minute chart watching price action at our expected resistance area. With a risk of about 20 pips we snagged a nice 60+ pip reload here around 1.6328 without much difficulty. All pairs included though, today was just Sweet!

The Daily trendline on the GBP/USD was under pressure again today, starting back in late Asia into the pre-London session. Then again we found ourselves with some proper Fibonacci pullback entries into the London session, onward past the now broken daily trend line for new recent high’s. In this video I show how we built a couple GBP long trade plans during our London session, as well as covering the more difficult Fib entry at 4:30am, which although technically perfect, was a difficult entry to take since we had GBP news being release Exactly when we are at this point. Yet even after this tough entry, we did indeed get one more pullback opportunity to reload this GBP/USD long, or whichever GBP pair of your choosing. Wonderful pip total day indeed longing the British Pound Sterling!

Throughout pre-London we had established a bit of a range on the majors early one, with some volatility showing up on the GBP/USD about an hour before London open. Even though the GBP/USD was starting to show some short term strength, the combination of a Daily trend line touch, along with a closed Bollinger Band on both the 4hour and 1hour charts indicated implied volatility for further upside was limited, at least on the near term. Armed with this information we started building trade plans around a lower high scenario. While the initial entry indeed take place prior to London open, there were a few more opportunities throughout early London to hop into this trade, including one exactly as London opened. In this video I walk you through these trade plans, that although were fairly high quality entries, in the long run ended up lacking follow through. Essentially successful trades in that they certainly moved far enough for us to protect very nice pips, but failed miserably reaching our objective. In the end, as London lunch arrived we had proven to stay in a fairly isolated range all night, with a few exceptions here and there. A rather tough night to make a lot of pips unless you were aggressive at protecting/scaling out your pips, which we did at every corner. Sometimes you have to scrape and claw to make your 120 pip night out of 30 here and 30 there.

After yesterday’s fun selloff of the USD during London, we began pre-London today well extended on our Daily charts. The GBP/USD, EUR/USD, AUD/USD, all a country mile from their Daily 5 ema’s respectively. While this alone is not a reason to enter a trade back to those levels, it certainly makes it difficult to continue our USD selling until either support catches up to price, or more likely, a pullback to near those levels ensues. So in this video I show how I built a trade plan to Short the GBP/USD and EUR/USD back to support, and reload this trade on subsequent shorter term pullbacks, along with profit take zones. I would not classify these trades reversals, but merely a shorter term scalp back to support, where most of us were eager to relong them (or short the USD again). With reloads added in on multiple pairings, it was actually a very solid overall pip day if you caught these.

Today the EUR/GBP and GBP/CHF 2hr macd divergence we have seen for over a week finally was followed up by some lower highs on the EUR/GBP and higher lows on GBP/CHF. Hinting Strongly at minimum of a 21 ema pullback on these long term charts was about to occur. This meant essentially we had technical reasoning to go Long British Pound Sterling against all comers all night long at any support possible until either resistance was hit, or failure in the form of 1-2-3 pattern’s etc. There were high quality long entries on GBP/USD, GBP/CHF, GBP/JPY, and short on EUR/GBP well into the pre-London session. These parts all offered again high quality pullbacks as the London market opened around 8am London time. In this video I focus on just one of these pairings, the GBP/JPY. I show in detail the divergence we spoke of that led us to believe Sterling strength all night would be the theme, along with complete details on how we put together a ‘Reload’ of the GBP/JPY long off a double bottom 61/8% Fibonacci and other overlapping support. I also discuss how we planned our profit takes, and determine where this trade might go. Excellent night overall, nice GBP basket trades that really cleaned up tonight, could not ask for a better way to end the week.

Today we found ourselves continuing our British Pound weakness and Japanese Yen strength from Pre-London, into our London open. This led us to marry Strong (JPY) with Weak (GBP) and focus our attention on the GBP/JPY pairing. All we could do for the first hour of the London open was build our trade plan for a continuation short off of a pullback to resistance. This area was not difficult to find however, as we had a 38.2% Fibonacci pullback level, 15minute 21ema, hourly 5ema, and the 4 hour 5ema all in the same 155.50-60 zone. The real work here was sitting on your hands and awaiting the entry zone, with plan to short firmly in hand. What added to this difficulty is within minutes of reaching our entry zone the British MPC meeting minutes were just about to be released. So you had to have your plan firmly pre-determined, along with stop loss etc in case our entry zone was hit. Sure enough the news popped us up the additional dozen pips to our overlapping massive resistance, and did not stay there very long. In fact just long enough to execute our plans, no hesitation allowed. Within 1 minute you were 70 or so pips in profit, and quickly protecting some of that. This trade plan was setup exactly how we do every day, the only thing different was right when the area was being achieved, we had the added volatility of a news release to deal with. I am sure this scared several traders away from this setup, but everything about this trade plan was technical, you must have trust in your plan win or lose.

Overall high quality setup, that required ACTION at the pre-determined zone, and those who did so were rewarded with 120-130 pips or so, gotta love it.

As has been the theme for a while now, we opened London continuing a long GBP/USD, and long GBP/JPY that began in early pre-London trading. As London opened, we found ourselves retracing perfectly to our Fibonacci retracement zone along with the 15m 21ema. This pullback was happening without actually reaching resistance at 6610-6615 first, so we felt very confident in building a trade plan for longing off support, targeting at least this resistance. To make things even more interest, as depicted in the video, we observed very obvious MACD divergence with price action on bot the EUR/GBP and GBP/CHF 2 hour charts, which both were indicating British Pound strength was likely on the way for a bit. Our first pullback entry netted us maybe 30 pips tops before making an overall lower high and stopping us out +15 pips. In this video I highlight in great detail how we built the next long trade plan for both an aggressive style entry, and a more conservative entry, once we respected support the next time. Sure enough we broke the trap, and ultimately reached our target for a nice 70′ish pip trade for most, and even made it past resistance for those that did not take profit.

The money is made in the waiting folks!

Since the weekend I had spoken in length in the London FXBootcamp session about seriously developing 4hour MACD divergence on every Japanese Yen pairing I could pull up. About a third of the way into today’s London session we began to see hints of a change in direction, such as USD/JPY having an hourly lower high, then breaking it’s recent price trap’ support level in the 15m chart. In class we covered the trade plans for shorting the GBP/JPY, EUR/JPY, and USD/JPY, and any trader could have done the same on any or even a basket of JPY pairs. In this video however, I will cover just the GBP/JPY. I will discuss and show in detail what caused us to both look for the short ‘clue train’ in the first place, and ultimately the actual entry/trigger criteria we used to short the GBP/JPY , risking just 20 or so pips, amounting to a fairly painless ride to just over 100 pips, before offering another pullback for an additional 90 pips reload. Very nice trading session indeed for London, certainly well deserved after the choppy sessions we have seen of late in the London time frame.

Today we open London in a rather choppy scenario short term, but once the GDP was released for Britain, the pound pairs proceeded to lose value quickly. After the initial strong news move we bounced solidly off recent lows and plotted a short trade plan off an overlapping resistance/Fibonacci zone that we simply had to wait for to occur. So in this video I focus on how we built our short trade plan on the GBP/USD, and used the EUR/GBP price movement to give us confidence in the entry itself. While it looks easy after the fact, the reality was this trade required much patience and discipline to WAIT for the setup to present itself. Perfect daily lesson of patience and discipline, as the end result was a relatively clean 80 pip trade that rewarded us for awaiting for price to fall into our trap. Today ended up a decent day afterall, but it sure felt like work.

Today’s London session was kind of tacky other than the quite obvious British Pound weakness throughout the night. While the GBP/USD short paid nice dividends from the pre-London entry, in this video I focus more on a completely different trade on the EUR/JPY. However, we did use the GBP weakness in the form of EUR/GBP breaking resistance to give us our confirmation on the EUR/JPY long. This trade plan shows how price action will often respect previous area’s of resistance as support, in the form of role reversal. This entry was pretty much entirely predicated by this. Ultimately the trade only reached around a 40 pip profit, but it was a relatively painless wait for +15 or so, enough to protect break even, and enjoy a risk free trade.
