Expected market moves before and after ECB

Posted on September 3, 2009 at 7:24 in Market comment, Market forecast, Operators' intentions by Dr. S. Sivaraman

yesterday EURO and GBP made the gains and making further gains nominally during japanese session and gap time before European session.

They are expected to rise quickly till mid European session.During late European session - ie before ECB interest rate announcement  drop quickly and then rise after ECB press conference towards close of European session. Then a quick dip during gap time before US session and considerable rise during US sessions are the expected moves.

Regards

Doc, during gap time GBP cut the high. so now this is good entry point for shorting GBPUSD to reach the daily low around 1.6230?

    smith

According to the calendar the ECB press conference ( 8:30 AM EST ) is DURING the US Session which starts at 8 AM EST.

Doc, how much drop do you expect from GBP during gap time? this 1.6350 level can be the bottom, or we can see the price somewhere 1.63 before the reversal?

    regards,
    smith

Listening to Triche and watching price, I assume it will move once he has finished talk?

I guess there is a debate when the NY session opens.
